VMC1 produced many block busters and award movies in Telugu film world. ABOUT FOUNDER

V.Doraswamy Raju (VDR) is the founder for the VMC1 Company. He isone of the most successful Telugu film producer, distributor and exhibitor in Andhra Pradesh. He produced block buster movies and award movies in Telugu.VDR has also produced few Tele films, Tele serials, Tamil dubbing and Hindi dubbing films.
V D R was President Film Chamber for two terms from 1993-1995. V.Doraswamy Raju also served as a TTD Board member in TTD Devasthanam,Tirumala.
V D R was MLA from Nagari Constituency (TDP) during 1994-1999 year under Chandrababu naidu as Chief minister of A.P.

Doraswamy Raju is a Telugu film producer, presenter, and distributor. He is the owner of Vijay Maruti Creative Private Limited in Hyderabad, Telangana, which was Andhra Pradesh back then. He produces Telugu films of devotional, thriller, romance and comedy genre. Doraswamy found the VMC Productions in 1978 which produces Telugu films and serials. It also distributes movies and serials in the region via their in-house distribution department named VMC Distributors. Currently other than its films, VMC Distributors hold distribution rights over “Guru Shishyulu”, “Premaabhishekam”, “Auto Driver” and “Chinna Alludu”. Doraswamy produced his first film “Kirai Dada” on 9th November 1987 which was a remake of the 1986 Hindi film “Jaal”.

He then produced “Seetharamiah Gari Manavaralu” or” Seetharamiah’s Granddaughter” in 1991. It was based on the Telugu short novel “Navvina Kanneelle” by Manasa. This film received four Nandi Awards and three South Filmfare Awards. The International Film Festival of India screened the movie in 1991. It was also remade in Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi as “Sandhwanam” in 1991, “Velli Modagalu” in 1993 and ‘Udhaar Ki Zindagi” in 1994 respectively. Then in 1992, Doraswamy produced “President Gari Pellam” or President’s wife which was dubbed in Tamil. In 1997, Doraswamy released another blockbuster under the title “Annamaya”, a devotional biography based on the 15th century composer Annamacharya.

The film received critical acclaim and achieved National Film Awards in two categories, Filmfare Awards in three and Nandi Awards in eight. It premiered in the mainstream category of the International Film Festival of India in 1998. Doraswamy specifically received Filmfare Best Film Award under Telugu category and Nandi Award for Best Film Award under Gold category. This was by far his most successful film. The movie album remains the highest sold Telugu music album till date. The movie screened for a hundred days in forty-two centres and one hundred and seventy-six days in two centres.

In 1999, “English Pellam Eastgodavari Mogudo” was produced and released. In 2003, he released “ Simhadri” which again received critical acclaim and earned INR 550 million at the box office, which is equivalent to INR 1.5 billion today, and screened for 200 days at 25 centres. Dorswamy sold distribution rights for INR 15.5 crores while the budget of the movie was only INR 5.5 crores. After that Doraswamy produced “Kochem Touchlo Vunte Cheputanu” in 2004, “ Vengamamba” in 2009, Kannada film “Uyyaale” in 2009, “ Sri Vasavi Vaibhavam” 2012, and “ Vijeta” in 2016.

VDR son V. Vijay Kumar Varma is also into Film production. He produced two films under VMC (Vijaya Maruti Creatives) banner . In which one is block buster movie Simhadri with Jr.NTR and directed by S.S.Rajamouli.

VMC1 HANDLED AROUND 70 LEASE (HIRE) FILM THEATRES IN CEDED AREA AND ALSO HAD OWN FILM THEATRE VMC1 PICTURE PALACE. VMC1 EFFECTIVELY MANAGED AND HANDLED OPERATIONS WITH AROUND 300 EMPLOYEE STRENGTH THROUGHOUT THE CEDED AREA.
